  • 1989 Establishment of the Care Center in Uttenheim by Willy Campei.
  • 1995 the idea was born to relocate the Care Center in the region ´Burggrafenamt´.

Falknerei

Botany trail

April 2000
Opening of the botany trail in five languages supported by Südtiroler Sparkasse.

Bird trail

2001
Opening of the bird trail, with the support of the State of South Tyrol and the WWF was designed

Chapel

July 2001
Construction of the chapel, dedicated to St. Franz von Assisi. The sculpture of the chapel was donated by the Swiss artist Max Schneider.

Wood sculpture

March 2002
Franz Canins (Artist) presents his Owls (wood sculpture) in the care center.

school classes

2003
For school classes and kindergarten the campaign "Learning by experience" ist organized yearly in our care center.

ZDF

March 2003
During the recordings for the ZDF-Sunday concert (german television) on the holiday region Meran, Tyrol and Lagundo a film crew documanted the flight demonstration of the care center for bird fauna Castle Tyrol.

RAI

May 2004
For some years, many film crews visited the care center. The picture shows the well-known presenter Laura Fadda with Willi Campei and film director Tony Morabito.

The care center has installed its new web site www.gufyland.com.

´Greifvögel und Eulen´

With support of the department ´Nature and Landscape´ of the South Tyrolean regional government, a small info font pocket format was created. In this 24-page booklet including photos, flying picture and short description of those representatives of raptors and owls are presented, which are the most common in South Tyrol. In german language only.

10th anniversary

September 2008
The Care Center for birdlife Castle Tyrol celebrates its 10-year anniversary at Castle Tyrol. Over the past 10 years 1682 birds were brought into the care center. 1161 birds were well cared for and re-released. Some animals were so severely injured, that they had no chance to survive in the nature. In the past 10 years, 40 birds found a new home in the care center and can be observed in a 300 meter trail of carefully designed aviaries.

Our website was completely renovated and updated by the web programmer and network specialist Klaus Hohmann from Bad Tolz, unsalaried. Later he will maintain the content and keep it up to date. So, he takes over the sponsorship for our turkmen eagle owl ´Bibi´.
